This book contains two monographs.
The first is a Brief History of the Kingdom of New Mexico in which the author gives us a succinct yet impactful accounting of the major events concerning the founding of the Kingdom in 1598 by a descendant of both Montezuma and Cortez. The second is an exploration of what is known about a little known people who we refer to as The Hurrians. Mrs. Hooper presents fragmentary evidence that may establish a link from the Hurrians to the people who founded the Kingdom of New Mexico.
The story contained within these monographs follows the evidence of cultural artifacts and texts found in lands spanning a region in the foothills of the Caucasus Mountains to Northern Mesopotamia and Eastern Anatolia, to named Hurrian Kings in areas known as ancient Mitanni to the Celt-Iberian Peninsula which was known as Hispania by the Ancient Romans, to the Spanish New World in what was formerly the Empire of the Aztecs, to the northern frontier of New Spain, which was known as the Kingdom of New Mexico, and finally to a southwestern U.S. state, which is known today as New Mexico, the 47th state of the United States of America.
