A Refreshingly Independent Direction in Book Publishing
Our readers are special. They often have a pencil at hand while reading, ready to jot down a thought or make a note in the margin. They choose Meripoint titles because they know that once they open a book, they may find themselves drawn into a world of ideas, discovery, and inspiration.
Our Story
We’ve all heard family stories growing up, and I was no different. I loved hearing about the antics of my ancestors.
There was Nina Wilcox Putnam, for instance—a wonderfully prolific writer who delighted in challenging society’s conventions.
Then there was my great-grandmother, who wrote poetry, a pastime she passed down to my father. My mother also wrote poetry, along with monographs on subjects that captured her interest.
Writing, it seems, was part of the family tradition.

Winkle, Twinkle and Lollypop, by Nina Wilcox Putnam and Norman Jacobsen.
The Beginning of a Dream

My first handmade book of poems, created in third grade.
I began writing when I was young, imitating those around me. In third grade, I even “made” my first book of poems. From that moment, I dreamed of the day when I could make real books.
That early fascination with books and the people who write them never left me. In time, it became part of the inspiration for Meripoint Books.
The Power of Well-Told Stories
At Meripoint, we’re building something enduring: a community of authors and readers who believe in the power of books to inform, inspire, entertain, and connect us.
We believe that worthwhile stories deserve to be told—and that discovering an unexpected voice or idea is one of reading’s greatest pleasures.
